NAIAS 2011: 2012 BMW 1-Series M-Coupe

BMW fans are always happy when the magical “M” gets glued to the decklid of a new vehicle in the German automaker’s lineup and when that vehicle is a tidy little coupe we know the outcome is going to be full of driver satisfaction.

***Updated Gallery!!***
BMW borrows the 340 hp twin-turbo 3-liter engine used elsewhere in its lineup and pairs it with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no alternative offered. Only true drivers need apply. Lightweight 19″ wheels and cross drilled disc brakes are standard. Hardcore M proponents might not be thrilled about their beloved tuning division forgoing natural aspiration in favor of a twin-turbo engine, but somehow we think one run to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds will smooth things over. The littlest M can be yours for $47,010.
