2010 Back to the Bricks

      If you travelled to downtown Flint for the Back to the Bricks car show you were far from the only one, as Design Editor Gernand found out. Record numbers of spectators and rolling pieces of art (cars) flocked to brick-paved Saginaw Street for the show. Gernand even managed to pull himself away from the all-Buick street long enough to take a tour of the newly renovated Billy Durant Hotel where they had a few vehicles from four of the seven divisions of Durant Motors parked out front. So if you were lucky enough to stroll the bricks take a walk down memory lane in our gallery. 2009 Back to the Bricks

      Back to the Bricks isn’t Woodward per se, but it does take place on the same day and more importantly, the same stretch of road. If you travel Woodward to The Loop in Pontiac and then take Dixie Hwy and follow that until it becomes Saginaw Street you will end up in Flint. Some 34 miles north of the action happening at the Dream Cruise there is a party going on in downtown Flint. Contrary to popular belief Flint is not a dead town as these photos taken at 7:30 in the morning will atest too!
