Chevrolet surprised us with a reveal of the 2019 Silverado even though we are still a couple weeks away from the North American International Auto Show and it is still only 2017. If there are any surprises with this design it is that the bowtie brand continues to gravitate back toward its milestone 1988-98 truck design. The two tiered grille remains, but the body sides appear to attempt some stylistic connection to the passenger car line within the brand. The news out of Dearborn today is the 2011 Lincoln MKX has officially received its EPA ratings. With its sole engine option, the 3.7L V6, the MKX is rated at 19-mpg city and 26-mpg highway. The 3.7L is the same V6 featured in the base 2011 Mustang–rated at 31-mpg highway in that application. Featuring TiVCT, the V6 produces a healthy 305-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Like its stablemate, the Ford Edge, the MKX will channel its power to the tarmac via a 6-speed SelectShift (read: equipped with paddle shifters) automatic transmission through either front-wheel drive (wrong-wheel drive) or all-wheel drive. Well it’s getting to that time of the year again. No I am not referring to the time when you blow your whole years’ earnings on Christmas presents and festivities, but the time of year when auto makers start bringing out their finest. Yes, auto show season is upon us and this year’s wave of new products is sure to be as exciting as ever. So as soon as the Christmas leftovers have been put away and the holiday joy is thoroughly spread our editors will be headed back down to Cobo Hall for more fun than any one automotive journalist should be allowed to have.
