Eat My Soot-Free Ammonia-Treated Exhaust!

Talk about your one-up! Starting this week Ford will step out from behind that shadow the General was casting with its 6.6L Duramax V8. Ford’s new 6.7L V8 PowerStroke turbodiesel says I’ll see your 397-hp and 765 lb-ft of torque, and raise you to 400-hp and 800 lb-ft of torque. Ah, horsepower wars at their finest! Read more…

Truck Driver Wanna-bes Rejoice: No CDL Required

Above all else, Ford consistently does one thing well, and that’s build pickups. We’re not talking just any pickups, but giant, imposing trucks with a commanding presence that the other guys just can’t match. In fact, it’s darn near semi-like in one of these things. You sit about eye level with fellow truckers, you occupy almost as much highway, and you burn fuel at a rate that would make even a Saudi cry. No doubt about it, one glance at the features and you’ll know the latest generation of Super Duty pickups is made for one thing: hard work. But there’s more to the story than an impressive spec sheet. What did we learn after a week in the cab? Well, we had a newfound appreciation for good coffee and for Ford’s latest heavy-hauler. Oh, If Only My Office Chair Had A Hide This Nice

As you are reading this 2005 Super Dutys are arriving on dealer lots and hitting the roads. However, we got the impression that there were enough diehards out there in favor of the old trucks that we figured we would give ‘er a final go round. Not to mention there are plenty of 04’s still on the lot ready to be put to work. So keep reading, because this truck is a workaholic and there is always another tree that needs pulled, or a horse trailer needing hauled.

2005 Ford Super Duty (Spy Shots)

Whilst out and about in southeast Michigan, on Ford road no less, I caught this guy hanging out in a Home Depot parking lot. It was a test mule for sure for the soon to be released 2005 Ford Super Duty. We saw earlier what Ford could do with their bread and butter F-150, and we are looking forward to some great things from the harder working  Super Duty’s. Judging by the wear and tear this test mule has seen most if not all of Michigan’s fine roads already. From what we can tell the new truck is sporting some frame enhancements; evidenced by the coil sprung front suspension, and their appears to be a reworked facsia and new clear headlights. The rest of the body work looks to be carryover. Unfortunately, through the windows we aren’t seeing much influence from the F-150’s stunning interior. Based on the badging the V10 lives on in some form. Likely to feature the 3-valve per cylinder configuration of the smaller 5.4L V8 that debuted in the F-150. Click into the post for a gallery of our shots. Read more…
